TITLE IX – rights, Investigations, Complaints, and hearing officer services
get in touch with usTitle IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 was enacted to protect people from sex-based discrimination in educational programs that receive federal funding. Now more than ever, with Title IX regulations in flux, it is critical that the parties have the knowledge, experience and support of an advisor, an unbiased investigator and hearing officer. Lorium has the platform, resources, experience and sensitivity to offer support during the Title IX process of seeking justice. At Lorium, we provide both non-legal advisory services to the educational institution, the Title IX complainants and respondents, both students and faculty, as well as providing legal services as needed. Our team has handled Title IX cases from coast to coast. The Title IX process can be overwhelming, invasive, and intimidating. Attorney Lanie Bandell, with a background as a prosecutor and litigator for over 20 years, will guide you throughout the investigation and hearing, providing knowledge of gathering evidence, managing expectations and preparation. Attorney Bandell also has the training and ability to conduct Title IX investigations, as well as sit as a hearing officer.
Like Lorium, our Title IX practice is defined by our culture of duty, courtesy, and service to our clients, our colleagues, and our community.
