Riley W. Cirulnick
Garrett P. LaBorde leads the firm’s Pensacola office. His practice focuses on Intellectual Property Law (primarily Trademark, Trade Secrets and Copyright), Internet and Technology Law (including matters related to brand protection, licensing and enforcement) and Corporate & Commercial law (including corporate structure and transactions, breach of contract, business dissolutions and general business litigation).
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. LaBorde was the founder and managing attorney of LaBorde Legal Group, a regional law practice based in Pensacola, Florida and New Orleans, Louisiana. In his career, Mr. LaBorde has represented clients before various federal courts and agencies in the areas of corporate and commercial law, internet and technology law, intellectual property, insurance law, real estate and property law, estate planning and business litigation.
Mr. LaBorde received his Juris Doctor from Mississippi College School of Law in 2001 and Bachelor of Science from the University of Louisiana-Lafayette in 1998, graduating in liberal arts with minors in English, History and Electrical and Computer Engineering. Mr. LaBorde served a federal judicial intern under Hon. John M. Shaw, Chief Judge of the Western District of Louisiana and he also interned with the Office of the Mississippi Attorney General.
His professional affiliations include the American Bar Association (where he has held positions in the House of Delegates, the Young Lawyers Division and the Law Practice Division); the Gulf Coast Intellectual Property Association (where he serves on the Advisory Committee); the Information Technology Association of the Gulf Coast (as a past Board Member and current Advisor), the Escambia-Santa Rosa Bar Association (where he serves on the Executive Council) and is a graduate of Leadership Pensacola, Class of 2012.
Mr. LaBorde additionally serves as a frequent lecturer on Law Practice Management & Technology and has presented various CLE’s and seminars for the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Louisiana Attorney Disciplinary Board, and the Escambia-Santa Rosa (Florida) Bar Association (where he serves as Vice-President and will assume the office of President in mid-2021).
